Day 2: Tuesday, May 9th, 2017-Soldier Field and Guaranteed Rate Field

Today, we embarked on a day-long adventure visiting both Chicago Bears and White Sox stadiums. We visited Soldier Field in the morning getting a fantastic private group tour from our tour guide, Denny. We were able to see the colonades, the press box, visitor's locker room, United Club level, and much more! We even had a chance to see how they commemorated soldiers by placing war medals in the blocks of stone in the entry ways of the stadium.

Soldier Field is a huge stadium, and the kids were awestruck by the size and condition of the amenities. Tickets for the suites ran up to $950 including game tickets and an all you can eat buffet. It was immense!!

Following the Soldier Field tour, we stopped by Navy Pier and let the kids have some free time visiting the sites and sounds of downtown Chicago!

After a filling lunch at Connie's Pizza, we made our way to see the Chicago White Sox play the Minnesota Twins at Guaranteed Rate Field. It was Dog Day, and we saw all sizes and types of dogs there. They even got to sit in the bleachers with their owners!

We were amazed by our seats in the 3rd and 5th rows down the 3rd base line! Frank even got a selfie with Todd Frazier! Even though the Sox lost 7-2, we all had a great time in the cold, but learned a lot about lack of pitching, timely hitting, and how Anthony could beat everyone in Speed Pitch!

Overall, the students have a lot to write about. First up is a comparison between both Wrigley and Soldier Fields...then, a feature article based on an athlete or coach from the two teams we saw tonight. See you tomorrow!
